Please read the following information prior to filling out the seamstress volunteer form found on this page.
While we need as much help as possible sewing these gorgeous little gowns, we are only looking for intermediate/advanced sewers who have had experience working with satin, lace, chiffon and charmeuse.
Why? Well, we believe quality is very important. Satin is one of the hardest fabrics to work with, experience is necessary. Although there is a need for Angel Dresses, the need is not high. We estimate the need for approximately 475 dresses per year. This is equivalent to approximately 25 wedding gowns.
Seamstresses must forward all Angel Dresses back to us so we can package them properly in order to send to Alberta NICUs, hospitals, and funeral homes.
Although we want seamstresses to be creative we want our dresses to be simple, reflecting an “angel like” quality. We do not want the babies getting “lost” in the gowns. A portfolio of Alberta Angels dresses can be found in on our photo tab or we follow very similar practices to Angel Gowns Australia.
Seamstresses homes must be smoke free, and sewing area must be pet free and smoke free.
Seamstresses do not have permission to sell Angel dresses for profit, patterns provided are not to be sold. Once wedding gowns are collected and Angel Dresses sewn they are the property of the Alberta Angel Dresses.
